Funding for Student Groups at MIT

The Graduate Student Council funds a large number of ASA-recognized graduate student groups through the GSC Funding Board for:

  • Events benefiting the graduate community
  • Capital expenses
  • Cross-departmental socials

To find out whether your group is eligible for funding from the GSC, please check the eligible graduate student group list for eligible student groups. If your group is not on the list, please contact the GSC Treasurer.

Funding Guidelines

 All funded graduate student groups are required to meet the guidelines established by the GSC Funding Board.

Funds for Summer 2013 have been allocated!

Allocation amounts for  Summer/Fall 2013 Round I funding can be found here.

Note: Deadline for Summer/Fall 2013 Round I funding reimbursements is October 1, 2013.

* Reimbursements will have at least a 2-business day grace period after the date of the event, but no later than the last day of the cycle.

Reimbursement requests are processed at 5pm at the SAFO office, on the 5th floor of the student center.

If your group did not receive the email and has applied to the funding board in the past, or is eligible, please contact gsc-treasurer[at]mit[dot]edu ASAP.

Events Calendar and GSC Anno

To facilitate event planning and ensure that events sponsored by the GSC are open to all graduate students, please remember to add events to the MIT’s events calendar and the GSC Anno at least two weeks in advance, and include the GSC Funding Board as a co-sponsor. The calendar and anno listing is a required part of the reimbursement request.
