FAQ for Incoming Students

Where does the shuttle pick up?
The shuttle picks up students from the ground transportation area of their arrival terminal.
Where does the shuttle drop off students?
The shuttle drops students at one of three on-campus locations

Albany Street (servicing residents of Sidney Pacific, Ashdown, Edgerton, and Warehouse)
Amherst Street (servicing residents of Tang and Westgate)
Wadsworth Street (servicing residents of Eastgate)

What is the shuttle's schedule?
The shuttle will be available Aug 16, 2009 to Aug 30, 2009. It runs approximately every half hour.
What is the cost of the shuttle?
Nothing, its free! You must give a voucher (one unique voucher generated per incoming student participating in the airport shuttle program) to the driver when being picked up. Family and friends are not included in this program and must pay for themselves if traveling with you.
Am I guaranteed a spot on the shuttle?
We will try our best to accommodate you on the shuttle you select, however, this may not be possible. You will receive an email after the sign-up deadline to confirm.
Will someone be there to welcome me?
We will try our best to pair you up with a current graduate student who will welcome you at the drop off point. However, this will be based on volunteer availability. You will be notified in advance if a student will be expecting you at your drop off point and arrival time.
What is the deadline for signing up for the shuttle?
August 1, 2009
What if I'm not staying on the MIT campus?
You can choose to take a taxi or public transportation:

How will I know that you received my application?
You will receive an email confirmation as soon as you submit the form. If you do not receive one within a few hours, contact gsc-webmaster@mit.edu
My flight changed after I submitted the application. What do I do?
If it is before the signup deadline, then resubmit the application and select the "correction" option. Otherwise, notify airportshuttle_chair@mit.edu.
