FAQs
I’m hitting an “Unauthorized” page. Is the website down?
Our website is sturdy as oak. Check that your certificates are updated and/or rerun CertAid.
If your certificates are already updated, try opening the page in an incognito window.
If the above have not worked and you are off campus, ensure you’re connected to MIT’s GlobalProtect VPN.
If the above have failed, please email gsc-secretary@mit.edu noting that you have tried the above fixes.
I missed the Sunday noon deadline, can my event still be shown?
All anno submissions are manually approved on Sunday at noon by the secretary (gsc-secretary@mit.edu) who is not notified of new submissions so it is likely that a post will be missed after the deadline.
This deadline may effectively be pushed later without notice due to the secretary’s schedule, but will never be pulled earlier.
Late submitters may feel free to email the secretary, though availability will vary and the whole Anno must be prepared for publishing again to accommodate.
The details of my event changed, but it’s already approved. Can I edit or remove it from the Anno?
Please reply to the submission approval email with the details that you’d like changed.
If you’ve deleted the approval, email, send details of your conundrum to gsc-secretary@mit.edu.
How will my post be shared on Instagram?
The post will be shared the Sunday before the event.
Unless a caption is provided in the comment to the reviewer, the 5 bullet points describing the event will be used as the caption.
If a submission requests to be shared on Instagram but no visual media is provided, no post will be made.
My submission was approved but why didn’t I see it in the Anno?
The post was most likely edited to conform to the 2 consecutive week rule stated on the submission form. The new showing dates are the two Sundays immediately preceding the event date/deadline stated in your submission.
