A: Tickets go on sale begin Monday August 21st at 11:45am EST. Sales will run up until 6 hours before the start of the event or until the event is sold out.
A: If tickets sell out, you will be put on the waiting list (there is not cost associated with being put on the waiting list). If people decide to return their tickets, those on the waitlist will be notified on a first come first served basis (i.e. the first person to get on the waitlist will have first access to a newly available ticket).
A: No. With the exception of returned tickets, all tickets will be made available at the start of the sales date.
A: No. Payment must be made with either a credit/debit card linked to a US bank account or MIT TechCASH (http://techcash.mit.edu/).
For international students with no US bank account, we suggest starting a TechCASH (http://techcash.mit.edu/) account, which can be linked to your student account to avoid having to set up a US bank account before arrival.
A: You may return your ticket by emailing tickets@mit.edu for a full refund up to 48 hours in advance of the start of the event. After that, tickets may still be returned, but no refund will be given.
A: For most events, yes. In order to ensure that the events are accessible to as many incoming students as possible, we limit most events to 1-2 tickets per person.
A: As much as we would like for everyone to be able to attend every event they want to, we simply don’t have that capacity during Orientation. However, fear not! Orientation is not the only time the GSC holds awesome events for students! Keep an eye on the Activities Committee for information on events throughout the year.
Tickets will be made available electronically only through tickets.mit.edu . Students must have a domestic bank account (and an associated debit/credit card) or TechCASH to purchase tickets
After an event is sold out, students who don’t have a ticket will have the option of being put on the waiting list for event tickets. The waiting list for each event will be on the same tickets.mit.edu site, and returned tickets will be reapportioned to students on the waiting list according to the order in which they appeared. There is no cost for being put on the waiting list
Tickets may be returned for a refund up to 48 hours before the start of the event. After this point, you may still return your ticket to make space for students on the waiting list, but no refund will be given. Returns and refunds can be processed by emailing tickets@mit.edu
The GSC reserves the right to limit individual ticket sales as it sees fit in order to ensure an equal purchasing opportunity for all students.
